Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about product image guidelines for Tradesala listings.

Tradesala recommends 1000×1000px in a 1:1 square ratio. Minimum accepted is 800×800px. File size must be under 5 MB, minimum 80 PPI. The primary product image must have a clean white background.

Common rejection reasons: blurry or low-resolution image, non-white background on the primary image, file over 5 MB, non-square ratio, product covering less than 90% of the frame, watermarks or text overlaid on the image, and images below 800×800px.

Completely safe. All images are processed entirely in your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. Nothing is uploaded to any server. Your files never leave your device — which also means this tool works fully offline after the page loads.

Bulk mode supports up to 100 images per batch. All processing is local — no server needed. Download all resized images as a ZIP, or download approved-only images separately.

80–92% JPEG quality is recommended. This keeps files under 200 KB (ideal) while maintaining visual sharpness. Below 75% can cause visible artefacts that risk rejection. PNG ignores the quality slider — it is always lossless.

No — the primary (main) product image must have a pure white background (#ffffff). Coloured, gradient, textured, or lifestyle backgrounds are not permitted for the main listing image. Secondary images (slots 2–8) may include lifestyle shots, infographics, and coloured backgrounds.

Text overlays, promotional banners (e.g. "50% OFF", "Best Seller"), watermarks, brand logos, and borders are not allowed on the primary image. They are an explicit rejection reason. Secondary images may include size charts, feature callouts, and usage instructions as infographic overlays.

For most categories, the product should be photographed outside its packaging so buyers can clearly see what they are purchasing. Exceptions include sealed consumables (food, cosmetics, supplements) where the sealed pack is the product. For multi-piece sets, all items should be arranged clearly within the 1:1 frame.

Three methods: (1) White sweep — place product on white chart paper near a window with natural light. (2) Lightbox — a portable photo lightbox (₹500–₹2,000) gives professional results on a budget. (3) Background removal software — shoot on any background and remove it using tools like Remove.bg or Canva. Ensure no shadows fall on the background.
